Alex Warwick BEng, CEng, MICE, SiLC - Managing Director

Alex has 25 years' experience in geotechnical and geo-environmental investigation and consultancy. He is a Registered SiLC (Specialist in Land Condition), a Chartered Civil Engineer, and holds an honours degree in Civil Engineering.

Alex began work at Nicholls Colton in 1987, as a Junior Geotechnical Engineer. Today he is the Director responsible for the geotechnical and structural divisions of the Group, as well as being the joint owner and Managing Director of the Nicholls Colton Group, with Ian Elliot.

In his other life, Alex is an internationally acclaimed rock drummer. He is a founding member and the drummer for the internet based Genesis Tribute band 'iGenesis', a band comprising musicians from across the world. His highly popular YouTube videos demonstrating how to play drums to tracks by Genesis and The Police have been viewed well over 1 million times. He also plays in local blues/rock band 'Cornerstone'.

Ian Elliot DMS, MIAT - Managing Director

Ian has over 25 years' experience with Nicholls Colton. His expertise in materials testing extends to bridge, pavement and building investigations and he has specialist laboratory testing experience across a wide range of constructional materials.

Today Ian is the Financial Director, Company Secretary and the Director responsible for Nicholls Colton Analytical and Nicholls Colton Testing, as well as being joint owner and Managing Director for the Nicholls Colton Group, with Alex Warwick.

Ian spends his weekends travelling the length and breadth of the country, transporting his daughter to Water Polo matches and coaching sessions, where she represents England. A previous county standard swimmer and water polo player himself, Ian still is a very active player and can out-swim almost anyone in the East Midlands.
