Project: Blackfriars Bridge and Pedestrian Subway Investigation

Blackfriars Bridge is an essential vehicle and pedestrian route in the heart of London. The Nicholls Colton Testing team were assigned the task of providing testing services which would assist the client in completing the upgrade of the Blackfriars Bridge and subway project adjacent to the River Thames.

The skilled team undertook a range of testing procedures including ultrasonic, resistivity, coring work and visual condition surveys all within highly trafficked and restricted test areas.

Acting as a specialist 2nd tier supplier to Transport for London Nicholls Colton successfully completed an onerous programme of works comprising UKAS accredited sampling and testing, together with an inspection regime of the carriageway, sizable steel junction beams, subway concrete soffit, deck and reinforcement bars.

All laboratory testing was undertaken in our own UKAS accredited laboratory.
