Luigi Sorrentino
Head of Laboratory Services
Luigi joined Nicholls Colton in 1985 as a trainee engineering assistant and worked in the structural design and geotechnical departments of the company before gaining an HNC in Civil Engineering and progressing in the laboratory to Laboratory Manager. Luigi is responsible to the Board for contaminated land analysis, laboratory and site testing.

James Gane BSc (Hons)
Environmental Laboratory Manager
James graduated from De Montfort University in 2001 during which time he specialised in Analytical Chemistry. For a year of his degree he worked in industry with the development, synthesis and subsequent analysis of liquid crystals. After graduating James joined Nicholls Colton where he has obtained over 8 years experience in the physical and chemical analysis of soils, this includes 3 years as the Laboratory Manager. James is responsible for the management of environmental testing laboratory which specialises in contaminated land analysis.
Maninder Singh Karir BSc (Hons) MSc MRSC
Senior Environmental Analyst
Manny holds a BSC (Hons) in Chemistry with Pharmacology from Liverpool University and a MSC in Instrumental and Analytical Methods in Biological and Environmental Chemistry from Warwick University. As a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry Manny is currently working towards his award of Chartered Chemist.
With over 5 years analytical experience gained at two of the UK’s leading environmental testing laboratories, Manny joined NCA in 2007 as the Senior Environmental Analyst. Manny is responsible for developing and validating both instrumental and analytical methods as well as leading a team of analysts and preparation technicians for the analysis of environmental samples.

Lee Harbottle
Laboratory Manager
Lee completed a National Diploma in Building Studies before starting with Nicholls Colton in 1989. After working on numerous site laboratories including 3 years as a materials engineer on CRTL (Channel Tunnel) Lee spent 6 years as a project supervisor responsible for carrying out testing on concrete structures. In 2007 Lee joined NCA and is now the Laboratory Manager responsible for all non-environmental laboratory testing and non- structures site testing, e.g.insitu CBR and plate bearing testing.
