Running 2 Marathons - You Must Be Joking!

Ben Cavey, the Quality and IT Manager ran the Virgin London Marathon on April 25th and he is running the Edinburgh Marathon on 23rd May to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.  It is his second London marathon.  He ran his first in April 2009, raising nearly £1900 for mental health charity Mind.  He is hoping to raise at least £500 for Macmillan.

Photo showing Ben Cavey having completed the 2009 marathonMacmillan’s ambition is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer.  They fund nurses and other health and social care professionals.  They provide emotional support and information.  They provide practical support at home from time off for a carer to a lift to the hospital.  99% of Macmillan services are funded through the generosity of supporters.  Your sponsorship will help to make a real difference.

Ben has been training for these events since December last year, training at least four days a week running between 30 and 45 miles a week.  He took up running 18 months ago, which has really helped him mentally and physically!

Donations over £10 will be entered into a prize fund (if you guess my combined finishing time correctly).  Prize donations are also welcome.

You can sponsor Ben using a debit or credit card or paypal account by going to http://www.justgiving.com/Ben-Cavey

Ben is hoping to run quicker than the 3hours 55 minutes he ran last year in both Marathons.
