Quality on the Run

Ben Cavey stretches after runningBen Cavey, our Quality and IT Manager, is running the Flora London Marathon for the first time on 26th April 2009. He is running for Mind, who offered him a golden bond place.  He needs to raise at least £1600.00!

Mind works for better mental health for everyone. It is a leading mental health charity in England and Wales. 1 in 4 people will experience mental distress in their life time and your sponsorship will help to make a real difference.

£6.90 provides a lifeline. It is the cost of answering one enquiry to the MindinfoLine from someone in need of support and information.

£15 could help to support a local Mind association befriending scheme. Trained workers make regular phone calls to isolated people who are at risk of developing depression and other mental health problems.

£30 could help train a volunteer to become a Mind campaigner, helping to promote awareness of mental health issues.

£100 could enable support to 1000 people by producing information booklets such as ‘understanding depression’.

Donations over £20 will be entered into a prize fund (if you guess my finishing time correctly).  Prize donations are also welcome.

Ben Cavey runningCurrently he is running more than 30 miles a week and will get up to 40 miles, training at least 4 days a week.  He is also running a few half marathons (and a 20 miler!) in preparation for the race.

Kevin Willfratt (NCG) has run two marathons and several other members of staff have run half marathons in the past.

All at Nicholls Colton wish Ben luck.
