NCA Gains MCERTS!
Nicholls Colton Analytical (NCA) has been officially granted MCERTS and UKAS accreditation for a number of important environmental analyses on soil.
NCA are the first laboratory in Leicestershire to obtain this standard and join a small band of commercial organisations offering an MCERTS testing service in the Midlands area.
The following methods were assessed by UKAS and found to meet the requirements of the Environment Agency MCERTS standard:
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) C8 - C40, also banding, including C10 - C12, C12 - C16, C16 - C21, C21 - C35, DRO C10 - C21, MRO C21- C40
Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons: Naphthalene, Acenaphthene, Fluorene, Phenanthrene, Fluoranthene, Pyrene, Benzo(a)anthracene, Chrysene, Benzo(b)fluoranthene, Benzo(k)fluoranthene, Benzo(a)pyrene, Indeno(1,2,3-cd)pyrene, Dibenzo(a,h)anthracene and Benzo(g,h,i)perylene,
Metals: Arsenic, Barium, Beryllium, Cadmium, Chromium (Total), Copper, Lead, Manganese, Nickel, Selenium and Zinc
Total Phenols
BTEX and MTBE
NCA also obtained UKAS accreditation for:
Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons: Acenaphthylene, Anthracene
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons banding: C8 - C10 and C35 - C40
Metals: Mercury and Vanadium
BTEX and MTBE for potable water.
Further MCERTS applications are planned but are subject to future customer demands.
Other testing now being undertaken include WAC (Waste Acceptance Criteria) analysis, sulphate suites for TRL 447 and BRE SD 1 (Special Digest) sulphate suites.
